World, Meet the iPad
After two years of secrecy and fervent speculation worldwide, Apple CEO Steve Jobs introduced the iPad, his company's new touchscreen tablet, on Jan. 27, 2010.

The iPad is easily held in one hand. It weighs 1.5 lb., is O.5-inch thin and has a 9.7 IPS display.

Multiple Tiers
The iPad features its own 1 GHz Apple A4 processor and comes in 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB solid-state flash-memory versions. Models featuring wi-fi will retail for $499, $599 and $699, respectively, while 3G versions will retail for $629, $729 and $829.

Keyboard Optional
A keyboard accessory will be available for those who prefer a physical typing experience.

Smooth Surface
The iPad has only one button and lacks a traditional keyboard. Instead, Apple has utilized its touchscreen technology to offer a digital equivalent.

Tablet Theater
Playing video is one of the many tasks that Apple's new tablet will perform.

Like the iPhone, but Bigger
The iPad will be able to play music and make use of the expansive App Store that the iPhone pioneered.

Apps Galore
Users of the iPad will be able to play games, check their Facebook profile or run any of the millions of apps that are available for the iPhone.
